Technical information for #penetration bitumen :

In #analyzing the #quality of all grades of penetration bitumen , the parameter that stands out from the rest is #paraffin #wax content . In laboratory testing , paraffin wax tends to crystallize at the temperature of zero degree centigrade . In cold climates ,this will result in asphalt particles becoming extremely #brittle causing them to break up and the road surface to be damaged . In addition, at temperatures above 30 degrees centigrade , paraffin wax , being oily in nature , causes a marked decrease in the adhesive property of bitumen resulting in sliding of the asphalt granules on each other and producing the characteristic of waved road surface in the high tension areas of the road .

In today’s world with high prices of raw materials , it only seems logical to use the bitumen which can produce the longest lasting asphalt coating on the #road surfaces and this can not be achieved unless the paraffin wax content of the bitumen is reduced to below 2 percent . In the ever lasting struggle to reach the best quality , the Esfahan refinery has been able to achieve this objective and we are proud to present all grades of penetration bitumen with paraffin wax content of below 2% . Such low level of paraffin wax will considerably increasing the #adhesion of asphalt granules and decreasing the chance of asphalt break up leading to the formation of a long lasting asphalt coating which will , in the long run , greatly reduce the road maintenance cost .
